# Head of Sales & Business Development ## Role Overview The Head of Sales & Business Development will lead the overall sales strategy, business development initiatives, and commercial performance of the organization. This role is responsible for driving sustainable business growth through strategic leadership, team management, partnership development, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will ensure achievement of sales targets, develop strategic partnerships, maintain customer retention, and strengthen the organization's market positioning across all products and services. ## Key Responsibilities **Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth** Develop and implement short-term and long-term sales strategies aligned with business objectives. Drive revenue growth across all business units, products, and territories. Identify new business opportunities, emerging markets, and customer segments to support market penetration and expansion initiatives. Develop pricing, proposal, and negotiation strategies to improve conversion and profitability. Monitor sales performance trends and implement corrective actions where necessary. **Team Leadership & Management** Lead and manage the sales team to achieve departmental and organizational goals. Set clear sales targets, KPIs, and performance expectations. Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and sales meetings. Mentor and develop sales staff to improve productivity and commercial effectiveness. Ensure discipline, accountability, and adherence to company policies. Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and training of sales personnel as required. **Key Account & Client Relationship Management** Oversee management of strategic and high-value client accounts. Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, partners, and stakeholders. Support resolution of escalated customer issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention. Lead contract negotiations and major commercial discussions. **Business Development & Partnerships** Identify and establish strategic partnerships that support organizational growth. Develop proposals and business pitches for prospective clients. Represent the organization at industry meetings and networking engagements. Collaborate with marketing and partnership teams to improve brand visibility and market reach. **Sales Operations & Reporting** Ensure accurate and timely sales reporting, forecasting, and pipeline management. Monitor sales processes for compliance and operational efficiency. Utilize CRM tools to monitor customer activity and team performance. Analyze sales data to support strategic decision-making. ## What We Are Looking For A minimum of 10 years of relevant sales experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role. BSc./HND Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Economics, or related field. Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and leading high-performing teams. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and business acumen. Excellent negotiation and relationship management abilities. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in CRM systems and sales reporting tools. Experience in technology, fintech, mobility, energy, or related industries is advantageous.
