About the Role

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to identify, design, build, and maintain automated solutions across business operations, with a particular focus on processes supporting device financing and platform operations, including onboarding, credit and loan servicing, collections, and customer support. The ideal candidate will sit at the intersection of engineering, automation, and product, with the ability to build reliable automations while understanding how automation decisions impact the overall product and customer experience. You will work closely with the Product and other business teams to ensure automation is intentionally incorporated into platform and operational processes rather than being treated as an afterthought. Key Responsibilities * Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain automated workflows and integrations across business functions, including loan origination, device financing, onboarding, collections, and internal operations. * Partner with technical and business stakeholders to translate business and product requirements into effective automation solutions. * Bring an automation-first mindset to product discovery, process improvement, and roadmap discussions. * Own the end-to-end automation lifecycle, including process discovery, process mapping, solution design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and optimisation. * Identify manual, repetitive, inefficient, or error-prone processes and recommend automation opportunities. * Integrate automation solutions with core business systems such as CRM platforms, loan management systems, payment gateways, HRIS, databases, and other internal platforms using APIs and scripting. * Monitor automated workflows in production, identify exceptions and failures, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective measures promptly. * Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation covering automation logic, dependencies, integrations, workflows, and ownership. * Build and contribute to a shared library of automation solutions and best practices. * Track and report the business impact of automation initiatives, including time saved, error reduction, operational efficiency, and cost savings. * Support wider digital transformation initiatives by identifying opportunities where automation can reduce manual dependencies and improve scalability. * Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Customer Support, and other relevant teams to continuously improve automated processes. Requirements & Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. * Minimum of 3 years’ experience in automation engineering, RPA development, software engineering, or a similar role. * Experience working in fintech, financial services, technology, or another technology-driven environment is highly desirable. * Demonstrable experience with automation/RPA tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Microsoft Power Automate, Zapier, or similar platforms. * Proficiency in at least one scripting language, preferably Python or JavaScript. * Experience integrating automation solutions with APIs, databases, CRMs, payment platforms, and third-party systems. * Working knowledge of product management principles, including user stories, prioritisation, requirements gathering, and the product development lifecycle. * Strong understanding of process mapping, workflow design, and process optimisation. * Candidates should be able to demonstrate a portfolio of automation solutions they have previously delivered, including the problem addressed, solution implemented, and measurable business impact. Certifications Certifications are not a substitute for practical experience or a demonstrated portfolio. However, the following certifications will be considered an advantage: * RPA certifications such as UiPath Certified RPA Associate/Developer, Automation Anywhere certification, or Microsoft Power Automate certification. * Product certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or recognised Product Management certifications. * Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification. Key Competencies * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent process-mapping and workflow-design abilities. * Strong product mindset with an understanding of how automation impacts user and customer experiences. * Ability to translate business problems into practical technical solutions. * Strong API, integration, and scripting capabilities. * Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. * Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. * Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. * Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline. * Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritise effectively, and deliver scalable solutions.
