About the Role
Job Purpose The Automation Analyst (Intern) supports the Automation Engineer in identifying and documenting manual processes across the business, and in testing and maintaining automated workflows once built. This is an entry-level, learning-oriented role intended for someone early in their career who wants structured exposure to how automation and process improvement work inside a fintech business. Key Responsibilities • Support process discovery by shadowing departments and helping map current manual processes. • Assist in testing and validating automated workflows before they go live. • Maintain process documentation and help keep the automation solutions library up to date. • Collect and organise data to help measure the impact of automation work - time saved, errors reduced, volume handled. • Support the Automation Engineer with basic scripting or configuration tasks under direct supervision. • Take part in product and automation review sessions, capturing notes and tracking action items. • Flag manual pain points or process bottlenecks observed while working across teams. Qualifications and Experience • Recent graduate or final-year student in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related field. • Basic understanding of process mapping or workflow concepts. • Any prior exposure to an automation or scripting tool (Python, Excel macros, Power Automate, Zapier) is an advantage, though not required. • Strong attention to detail and a genuine willingness to learn. • Good written communication, particularly for documentation. Certifications (evidence of initiative) Formal certification is not required at this level. Where a candidate has one, it is read as a signal of initiative rather than proof of experience: • Free or entry-level RPA courses - e.g. UiPath Academy foundational courses, Microsoft Power Automate fundamentals, or Google/Coursera automation basics. • Any completed coursework or certificate in process mapping, data analysis, or basic scripting. Key Competencies • Curious and eager to learn how the business runs end to end. • Organised, with a habit of following through on assigned tasks. • Comfortable asking questions and taking direction from the Automation Engineer. • Reliable and professional, given exposure to internal process data across departments.
